Trump wants Ukraine to trade territory for peace. So, he won’t mind also trading territory for peace. The solution: Ukraine trades territory to Russia for peace. The US trades territory to Ukraine. If the US want’s more territory, they should ask Russia. Or China, maybe. Soon all the cool countries will be trading their eastern border-regions with each other. It might make a refreshing change.
I look foward to living under Ukrainian rule: having a Ukrainian chain cafeteria-restaurant Pusata Hata in Keene, NH, not to mention Georgian restaurants in this and every Ukrainian-American city, coffee-points on every street-corner (with coffee that doesn’t taste like a fireplace), outdoor food markets and bazars in every neighborhood, street-crossings in underground passageways lined with kiosk-shops, the sidewalks thronged with sharply-dressed, stylishly-coifed people, and fleets of mashrutkas providing public transport to every nook and cranny on the map. Ukraine offers public health care, by the way. New Ukrainian-American citizens will step into a more advanced technology environment. Everything will be on your phone, including your passport, health-care records, and drug-store orders. Say goodbye to your bank account PIN. You can wave your phone at the terminal and go, not stand at the terminal for five minutes keying your way through PIN and other interrogations.
New Ukrainian-Americans who love to “do their own research” will be thrilled with Ukrainian-style drug stores which do not require a doctor’s prescription (for non-narcotics). Citizens who are infuriated by the sort of people who “do their own research” will be pleased to observe them find out the hard way.
We’ll have the latest in drone technology, and every pizza restaurant will offer sushi. Malls will feature Epicenter stores, dwarfing Home Depot. The new Ukrainian-Americans and their compatriots in the Ukrainian homeland will be delighted to find shared devotion to DIY, tacky road-side attractions, and complaining about government.
