Briefly: I’m safe, I’m in Budapest, Hungary.
I took what turned out to be one of the last flights out of Ukraine at 11:45 pm.
I had a heavy heart when I took the above picture in the cab on the way to the airport. The fuzziness is due to the shaky ride on Lviv’s cobblestone streets.
I had an even heavier heart when I took the view below of Lviv. Here the fuzziness is due to snow in the air.
My heart is heaviest yet the day after.
Paul and I are so relieved that you are safe. I'm sure there are plenty of people in Budapest who would like to improve their English -- Hope you stay there awhile.

Oh, Bill. Sad this is happening but relieved to hear you are out.
